Yusuf Raza Gilani Visits Quaid’s Mausoleum Barefoot

 

Today, I went to the basement where his grave is located. When I was a minister once, the renovation and decoration of the Quaid’s Mausoleum were my responsibilities.”

He said that the constitution makers visited Quaid’s mausoleum in their bare feet. In addition he said, “People used to ask Quaid-e-Azam why he didn’t go to Multan, and he would say that Gilani is there.” Moreover, the story told by Yusuf Raza Gilani regarding Quaid-e-Azam’s response to questions about Multan highlights the relationship between these politicians as friends during those days; thus showing how leaders can be united even if they belong from different parties which also represents past experience where all worked together for Pakistan.

Addressing Pakistan’s Challenges Yusuf Raza Gilani 

Yusuf Raza Gilani acknowledged the issues facing Pakistan but also highlighted the potential within the country. He stated, “There are certainly problems in Pakistan, but 65% of our population is young. Our leader, Bilawal Bhutto, is also young, and together with the government, we are working to solve Pakistan’s issues.”

Political Collaboration and Historical Reflections

The Acting President also reflected on past political events, saying, “The founder of PTI formed a committee. I remember that Shah Mahmood Qureshi and others were part of it. We had given them the election dates at that time. They said they would let us know after discussing it. I told them back then that breaking the KP and Punjab assemblies was a mistake. Even if there is a murder in our country, we have to sit at the table to resolve it. Shaheed Benazir Bhutto never abandoned the path of negotiations.”

In his statements, Gilani emphasized the importance of unity and dialogue in addressing the nation’s problems and pointed to historical examples to underline the importance of perseverance and cooperation.
