Shibli Faraz Slams NAB Amendments: “NRO 2” Accusation

Senator Shibli Faraz of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has expressed his strong disagreement with the recent announcement related to NAB (National Accountability Bureau) amendments. He remarked that this is ‘NRO 2″ meaning that this is yet another populist measure to appease corruption and incompetence.

Faraz condemned the amendments and maintained on practical grounds, that there was no attempt to be made to violate the law and the constitution but in attempting to advance the sovereign interest of the country. Even as he made these remarks, he pledged that he would take it to the public, since in his opinion, that is probably the most, if not the only t way o constituently address the injustice that he perceives.

Criticism of the Government and Parliament

Faraz did not spare the current government in this regard saying that those who hold government alludes to as “Form 47” are not the true people’s representative. He submitted that these leaders seek more to make laws that are aimed at protecting corrupt and constitution-breaking persons and not addressing the challenges and issues of the people. Faraz dismissed the legitimacy of the current parliament calling it a fake institution that lacks the interests of the public except for those in power who are parasitically fed on the rest of the society.

Concerns Related to the Legislative Process Shibli Faraz

Faraz also directed his comments toward the nature of the legislative process itself. He expressed doubts about the quality of upcoming laws and argued that true parliamentarians should serve the people instead of protecting misconduct. He further stated that these laws go against the principles of democracy and even fuel the very conditions that destroy confidence in institutions.

PTI Position and Way Ahead Influencer of Election Results

Faraz rendered what appears to him as an intentional strategy to whittle down PTI the most dominant political party in Pakistan in the course of the recent elections. He said that people were ready to cast their votes for PTI even after the party lost its election symbol and faced various forms of electoral bullying.

Upcoming Political Strategies Shibli Faraz

Faraz, however, stated, in reacting to these issues, that PTI Will not back down in the political war and pursue justice also. He stressed a forthcoming rally taking place on September 8 and dubbed it as being the biggest in the history of the country.  Over and above the rally, Faraz was very condemning of the present judicial climate and endorsed that honorable judges overshadow or retire gracefully as is the trend but which he sees as patronizing a dangerous future for the country’s proceedings.

Public Sentiment and Future Prospects

Faraz further raised issues with the new laws, saying that such situations make it harder for the common people. These laws, he argued severely in the most antagonistic way, aimed at the general public but indulged in corruption leaving a few honest in hardship as the ‘wealthy’ thrive. He thinks that this makes the people more distraught and cuts the people off from any forms of improvements and thus people might even leave the country in search of better Gangs.

Obstacles Ahead Shibli Faraz

Indeed as Faraz and PTI engage further in politics, the challenges they encounter are considerable.

Currently, various controversies and complicated problems in governance and accountability plague Pakistan’s politics. Faraz’s statements reflect the widespread discontent with the status quo and highlight the need for changes to restore the public’s faith in politics and the judiciary.
