Shehbaz Sharif Vision for investing | No Room for Laziness

 

Prime Minister emphasized the urgent need for action and highlighted the significant role the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is playing in Pakistan’s development and prosperity. Addressing a meeting of the SIFC, which was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, provincial chief ministers, and council members. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Vision stated that both civilian and military officers are working tirelessly as a united team.

The Prime Minister noted that the council’s achievements have silenced critics and underscored the council’s role in national progress. Prior to the SIFC meeting, the Chief of Army Staff met with the Prime Minister at the Prime Minister’s House to discuss key national and defense issues.

In his address, the Prime Minister mentioned recent visits to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.Where people expressed significant confidence and trust in the SIFC, he acknowledged the initial skepticism when the SIFC was established in 2022. Still, he pointed out that its effectiveness and successes have proven its value.

UAE and Saudi Investments Boost Pakistan’s Development Efforts

The Prime Minister thanked provincial leaders for their support and stated that the council would implement investment commitments from the UAE and Saudi Arabia. He emphasized the importance of achieving their goals and enhancing Pakistan’s global reputation through hard work.

Highlighting the need for professionalism and high-quality output in Pakistan. The Prime Minister mentioned the ongoing digitalization of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and assured that Saudi Arabia had pledged comprehensive support and investment. He reflected on Pakistan’s resilience and achievements. Such as becoming a nuclear power despite numerous challenges, and stressed the importance of increasing agricultural production, exports, IT expertise among youth, industrial growth, and mineral development.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Vision pointed out that Pakistan is rich in natural resources. However, we did not effectively utilize these in the past, resulting in penalties and missed opportunities. He mentioned the current efforts to capitalize on the Reko Diq project involving the SIFC, the military, and the Balochistan government.

During the visit to the UAE, discussions focused on breaking free from financial dependency, leading to a $10 billion investment announcement from the UAE. The Prime Minister emphasized the necessity for focused and diligent efforts to ensure we realize these opportunities, stating that we must avoid laziness or complacency. He emphasized the collective effort required to make Pakistan a prosperous and active nation through relentless hard work.
