Addressing Oman’s Ambassador, Fahad Suleiman Khalaf Al-Harousi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and religious connections between Pakistan and Oman are very important. The Pakistani leader expressed a strong commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations during a meeting with Fahad Suleiman Khalaf Al-Harousi, Oman’s Ambassador. Sharif stressed the importance of expanding cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, energy, and defense. He noted that both countries have a common heritage and values that are important for deepening their partnership.
The condemnation of terrorist attacks and offer of assistance
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the recent terrorist attack that killed six people, including four Pakistanis, and injured thirty others. For instance, he pledged his support towards Oman in addressing the terrorism menace besides expressing solidarity with victims together with their relatives. The Omani Ambassador appreciated the Prime Minister’s move on behalf of the Sultan of Oman. Through this response, Sharif showed Pakistan’s preparedness to assist its allies combat terrorism thus ensuring regional stability.
Collaboration with Abu Dhabi Ports
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also discussed ongoing collaborations between Pakistan and Abu Dhabi Ports with Khurram Aziz Khan who is CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Pakistan. On the government side, Sharif stressed his administration’s commitment to facilitating the implementation of the agreement signed with Abu Dhabi ports; hence these parties are investing a lot in Karachi port infrastructure projects through this collaboration. The next ten years would see an injection of $250 million into upgrading part capacity to make it more efficient. Sharif noted that international partnerships must be embraced if Pakistan has to move forward in terms of maritime and trade capabilities.
Partnership with Huawei for IT Development
Pakistan’s premier minister also talked about the Huawei relationship while he was meeting Ethan Sun who is Huawei’s Chief Executive Officer in Pakistan and his delegation. He said that they have a program whereby every year, up to 300,000 Pakistani students would receive professional IT training with the assistance of Huawei. It is aimed at increasing Pakistan’s IT exports and developing its digital economy as part of a wider campaign in this direction. He also highlighted the role Huawei plays in technological advancement and innovation within his country.
