International media reported that Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre stated, “We can’t achieve peace in the Middle East without recognizing a Palestinian state,” followed by his announcement that Norway recognizes Palestine. Governments worldwide hold this view, realizing that such conflicts need resolution through diplomatic means involving recognition by all sides concerned.

Formal Recognition Dates

Pedro Sánchez announced that Spain will formally recognize Palestine as a state on May 28. This decision aligns with Norway’s timeline, as the Norwegian Foreign Minister also confirmed. Norway will officially recognize Palestine on the same date.
