The former France defender, 31, arrived at the membership from Real Madrid in 2021 for an initial price of about £34 million ($53million) and has made ninety-three appearances, scoring two times. He was a part of the crew that won the club’s first trophy in six years — the 2023 League Cup. Varane, whose United career has been disrupted by injuries, has not played since a 4-3 defeat to Chelsea on April 4 but hopes to be available again before the end of the campaign. “To you men, supporters of Manchester United, it is a first-rate few years because I played for this unique club and wore that blouse,” Varane stated on social media.

United have endured a nightmare season. With 14 defeats, they are languishing in eighth place in the Premier League and look unlikely to qualify for Europe.
