Mir Sarfraz Bugti Praises Bhutto, Sharif for Nuclear Program

 

The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, held a press conference recently where he hailed the contributions made by former Prime Ministers Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan’s nuclear program. He said that it was under immense pressure that Bhutto laid the foundation of the nuclear bomb while Nawaz Sharif conducted atomic tests.

Congratulating the entire nation for becoming atomic power through Youm-e-Takbir, Bugti highlighted that Bhutto first gave Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities shape and then realized by Nawaz Sharif when they successfully carried out tests.

Announcement on Education Sector Reforms

Alongside other important matters, Bugti declared that the the results of tests. The authorities will immediately announce interviews to the Education Department as per Supreme Court orders. He further guaranteed that they will make no compromise regarding merit in teachers’ recruitment and that they will recruit all teachers purely on a contract basis. Promotions will be linked only to performance, among other factors.

Transparency in Employment Commitment

Balochistan has abolished the purchasing jobs era; subsequently, all recruitments shall go through the Public Service Commission to ensure transparency and fairness.This is part of a wider move against corruption and buying jobs, which seeks to promote merit based system instead.

Upcoming Budget Presentation

The chief minister said they will present the Provincial budget on either June 21st or 22nd. Who added that currently, the government is busy preparing its first budget so as to address the financial needs of the province effectively.

Load shedding & line loss issues addressed

Chief Minister criticized Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) for imposing long hours load shedding in Balochistan; according him QESCO often cites line losses a problem affecting whole country not just Baluchistan as reason behind these actions. He states that Balochistan contributes less than 20% towards line losses, and he intends to take up this matter with the federal government for redress.

Bugti’s announcements covered a range of concerns in Balochistan that include educational reforms, employment transparency as well as solving the energy crisis in the province.
