A source of strength and inspiration for the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, is Madinah Munawwarah. She says she draws inspiration from a model that Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) established. She emphasized how the light of guidance from Hazrat Umar serves all rulers as a beacon. I may not know Lahore very well, but there is no street in Madinah Munawwarah that I am not familiar with. Every day, I pray for strength and ability to serve people.
Meeting with Imam of Masjid-e-Nabawi Maryam NawazÂ
Recently, Maryam Nawaz met Dr Salah bin Muhammad Al Budair, an Imam at the Masjid-e-Nabawi. At the office of the Chief Minister, Maryam welcomed him warmly. During their conversation at the office, Dr Al-Budair referred to her as his sister and asked if she would like to visit Madinah Munawwarah. In this discussion, Maryam Nawaz highlighted the long-lasting friendship between her father and the Saudi royal family, reflecting upon it as worthy of emulation.
Strong Ties with Saudi Arabia Maryam NawazÂ
She also spoke about Shahbaz Sharif’s successful meeting with Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, during which both leaders agreed on a common agenda of serving their people. She further noted that Pakistan looks up to Saudi Arabia for spiritual guidance just like any other country that shares its political future with them, dear brothers and sisters. Moreover, he further added that Pakistan is one bright star while Saudi Arabia is another bright star in the sky shining together.’ He commended Mohammad Nawaz Sharif as a friend of Pakistan whose leadership has led toward prosperity and development and appreciated Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s zeal to follow the steps of her father.
Message to the Youth:
In her message on International Youth Day, She said youth are our nation’s most excellent resource; they are the future architects of our country. She stressed youth’s need for education, training, and character-building. Maryam Nawaz argued that she would like to see laptops instead of stones and petrol bombs in the hands of young people, who should be given books and higher qualifications.
