During her campaign in Pennsylvania, Vice President Kamala Harris did not hold back when it came to former President Donald Trump. The Democratic candidate called him a “coward” in what may be among her most fiery speeches so far this year — or ever for that matter. Supporters loved it; critics were less enthused.
The critique of leaders Kamala Harris
Harris spoke at length about what she sees as wrong with the current state of American politics. For too long, people have been mistaken in thinking that one’s power is proven by tearing others down, she said. According to Harris – who has never shied away from using sharp rhetoric while championing democratic values – this mindset couldn’t be more dangerous or misguided for our democracy.
She argued Trump’s entire political strategy revolves around making sure no one else looks good besides him and this isn’t a strength, but rather a weakness filled up with fears. In her words “Leadership means lifting others not tearing them down.
How we should measure leadership Kamala Harris
What does Kamala mean by being strong? She believes that true worthiness comes from inspiring people across every divide imaginable towards greatness irrespective of their individual beliefs systems etcetera during one’s tenure as a leader.
Then Harris added: “A leader should be measured not by how many people they have knocked over but by how many they have lifted.” This seemed like music to the ears of those present who shared her vision for better inclusivity within governance structures going forward thereby eliciting rounds upon rounds of applause.
Indirectly criticizing Donald Trump
Kamala must have mentioned someone else if it wasn’t Donald Trump himself because there is no way these comments weren’t about him. Cowards are those types whose only goal seems to make others look bad rather than working towards something positive themselves according to Harris anyway which would imply that she was indeed talking directly about DT but why would she do such a thing when she could have just ignored him completely? Well, maybe Kamala believes that attacking an individual on a personal level only drags both parties through mud without achieving any real progress toward solving our nation’s most pressing issues.
If Pennsylvania is any indication of what awaits us over these next few months then buckle up because we’re in for one helluva wild ride. While Trump continues championing populism under the banner “America first,” Harris strives to restore democratic ideals of fairness justice equality opportunity rights freedoms representation voice choices access etcetera
