Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, your Rehman, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, has expressed his serious concern over the increasing incidents of street crimes in Karachi. According to him, these criminals cannot work without some support. He also wanted to know which force was backing up these terrorists that were putting lives at stake in Karachi and demanded accountability from the Sindh Government.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said that the citizens were facing multiple problems, including street crimes, water shortage, and unannounced load shedding. He said that he was very much worried about the disillusionment among youth in particular, adding that parents have started thinking about sending their children abroad due to the worst conditions.
He said that the people of Karachi live under constant threat and fear. Criticizing the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for its non-serious attitude towards such issues, he said the party declares such incidents routine in big cities, which reflects its insensitivity to the sufferings of commoners.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman blamed the government for not fulfilling its responsibilities while describing claims of decreasing street crimes as complete lies. He alleged that both PPP and MQM promote extortion and terrorism, making the lawlessness situation in the city worse.
He added that all these matters must have been addressed effectively by now, but the government’s failure could leave the masses helpless & hopeless only. Citing it as another lie against ground realities faced by people every day, he called for immediate concrete steps regarding this; otherwise, things would further deteriorate. Hafiz Naim-ur-Rehman asks the Sindh Govt to take ownership of protecting Karachiate, restoring peace providing them necessary facilities to survive rather than doing politics over life.
