A Sargodha Anti-Terrorism Court judge has received an apology from the District Police Officer (DPO) of Sargodha. And other police officials after submitting a complaint in opposition to them for harassment.

The lawyer in the federal government said during court proceedings that the Prime Minister was out of the country. But court orders would be implemented within one or two weeks. Additional Attorney General Mirza Nasr said that the Attorney General had instructed to convey to the court about compliance with its orders.

Contempt of Court Proceedings
Since contempts can be initiated by our Honorable Courts being bestowed such powers, this could also be initiated here if found appropriate, said the Court Advisor. Inquired Justice Shahid Karim from concerned police officials to submit their replies regarding these charges, which were being considered under the Contempt Of Court Act 1976.
Unconditional Apology
All these officers submitted their written replies during court proceedings through an advocate. The DPO Sargodha, the Regional Officer CTD, and the SHO concerned tendered an unconditional apology before this bench today.

Justice Shahid Karim commented on this matter, saying the decision will be made in the next hearing on whether an unconditional apology should be accepted, along with contempt proceedings if any are required.
Next Steps
The Lahore High Court adjourned further proceedings until the second week of August to consider these replies and whether or not contempt action should be taken based on the facts disclosed in such answer sheets.
