Ali Amin Gandapur Reacts to Excessive Loadshedding Reports

The chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has often warned the federal government that the province will not tolerate load shedding for more than 12 hours. Ali Amin Gandapur, the province’s chief minister, managed a gathering about power load shedding. The briefing included an update on the current load-shedding situation, recovery, and other matters.

According to the briefing, one billion rupees were recovered in a month with the KP Government’s help. PESCO installations and staff have been provided with police protection. However, despite the promise of zero load shedding during Eid-ul-Adha, it still needs to be implemented.

The statement added that most areas faced 12—to 18-hour extended power outages during Eid since May 1st. Unannounced load-shedding protests, including women’s sit-ins, have been staged at 81 places.

Speaking on occasion, the CM said that, unfortunately, the provincial government fully cooperates on electricity-related issues, but the federal government does not fulfill its promises even in times like Eid when unannounced load-shedding is observed.

Ali Amin Gandapur said that load-shedding is still ongoing. At the same time, a vast recovery has been made, which is an unfair practice making public life miserable, thus creating a severe public reaction, adding that protest demonstrations against power outages are not by any single political party or provincial government. Still, it’s a public issue and justified by people’s anger.

The chief minister reiterated his resolve not to allow more than twelve hours of continuous power breakdowns anywhere within KP. Saying such a step may ignite uncontrollable public wrath. Therefore, he advised federal authorities concerned to take immediate notice before things get out of hand. While also emphasizing the needful measures for eradicating line losses throughout the province.
