Call for Independent Investigation Ex-Security
The circumstances notwithstanding, even when Umer Sultan was back home, the lawyer made a case for investigating the incident.
Kundwal informed the court that a Kashmir File had already been submitted regarding Sultan’s disappearance. He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation, ensuring that no one influenced the process of discovering what happened to the Sultan.
The Chief Justice approved the counsel’s request and instructed the authorities to conduct a free and fair investigation. Since Umar Sultan had returned, the court dismissed the petition for his recovery, urging efforts to focus on investigating the incident rather than uncovering the truth
