US ignorance of Pakistan’s elections Foreign Office

In regards to the American House of Representatives’ approval of a resolution concerning its recent elections, Pakistan’s has expressed strong disapproval.

The spokesperson for the Foreign Office said that the U.S. resolution on Pakistan’s election is neither purposeful nor constructive. He stressed that this kind of resolutions do not help the bilateral relationship between. The two countries and fail to appreciate complexities in Pakistani politics as well as electoral processes.

The timing and context have also been criticized by Pakistan. According to their statement, this does not go with the ongoing dynamics of Pak-US relations. The spokesperson pointed out that it shows an incomplete understanding of the political situation in Pakistan and a lack of insight into the electoral process held there.

The Foreign Office underscored Pakistan’s position as the world’s second largest parliamentary democracy after India and its status as the fifth largest democratic country globally. The statement, released yesterday evening following recent contacts between both sides, reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to constitutionalism, human rights, and the rule of law, emphasizing adherence to democratic principles and good governance in line with national interests.

On another note, the US Congress refused to recognize the polls as free and fair but called for a transparent probe into alleged rigging and irregularities in the general elections — this is viewed. Here as an affront against our electoral integrity sovereignty indeed; however, only seven representatives disagreed. When approving the resolution text yesterday afternoon which at the same time demanded impartial investigation. They should conduct investigations into claims of interference during the February 8 voting, among others.

Things like condemning disruption internet/telecommunication facilities during any future vote thus seen barrier-free flow information hindrance democratic process.

Pakistan’s reaction demonstrates how delicate and important electoral independence and sovereignty are. Pakistan sees it as American interference in its domestic matters, hence underlining. The imperative of respect on equal terms while dealing with each other internationally. What they want from the Foreign office is a positive commitment to exchange views constructively or dialogues so that. This one-sided resolution cannot clear up all doubts. Which might spoil any cooperative or partnering attitude between these countries.
