Urgent Passport Issuance for Overseas Pakistanis

 

Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, has issued a directive to expedite the issuance of pressing Urgent Passport to remote places Pakistanis within seven days.

Inspection of Urgent Passport and Nadra Centers in London

Minister Naqvi visited passport and Nadra centers in London, addressing the issue of delays in passport processing for Pakistanis residing worldwide.

Distinction between Urgent Passport and Normal Passport Issuance

Under the directive, urgent passports for overseas Pakistanis will be issued within seven days, while normal passports for those residing will take 30 days.

Worldwide Implementation

This policy will apply to all Pakistani missions worldwide. Previously, overseas Pakistanis received normal passports in 4 months and urgent passports in 2.5 months. Any delays beyond the stipulated time will result in actions against responsible officials.

Establishment of Monitoring Cells for Timely Passport Issuance

Monitoring cells has been established. The Federal Minister will appoint the monitoring cell in charge of the Interior.

Acknowledgment of Performance

During his visit, Minister Naqvi commended the performance of Nadra and noted the absence of complaints regarding its services, offering praise to Nadra staff.

Addressing Staff Shortages

Minister Naqvi also addressed the issue of staff shortages at the Passport and Nadra centers, directing effective staff management to fulfill operational needs.

Directives to Urgent Passport and Nadra Staff

During meetings with passport and Nadra staff, Minister Naqvi instructed them to adhere strictly to the designated time frames for passport issuance. He also interacted with overseas Pakistanis present at the centers to inquire about any issues they faced.

Collaboration with British Authorities

Dr. Mohammad Faisal, Pakistan’s High Commissioner in Britain, accompanied Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi during these engagements.
