Operation Updates: IG Police Clarity, Afghanistan Talks
In regards to Operation Azm-e-Istehkam. He highlighted that until the IG Police provides clarity on its size, stakeholders, including the public and provinces, must maintain confidence. Gandapur expressed dissatisfaction with Bilawal Bhutto’s global tours. Arguing that the matter of Afghanistan needed to be addressed due to a lack of dialogue. He advocated for talks with Afghanistan, lamenting the absence of negotiations with governmental agencies or the federal government. Gandapur pointed out that conditions for talks should include the return of mandates and the formation of a commission on May 9th.
Moreover, Gandapur rejected allegations against him and indicated his willingness to meet with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for discussion. He warned that they would escalate their reaction if federal demands were not met. Gandapur further criticized the operation, suggesting that instead of ensuring stability, it could lead to further instability. He criticized the government’s insensitivity towards its people and warned against adopting hostile attitudes towards them akin to their enemies. Gandapur stressed the importance of presenting a united front in the country and avoiding divisions.
