Tribal Clash in Karam: After the violent conflict, police and armed forces swiftly entered the area to restore peace. They have implemented measures to prevent lawbreakers from escalating the shooting incident. Law enforcement remains on edge due to the potential for further violence, prompting them to take additional steps to ensure the safety of residents.

Efforts to Restore Peace

Deputy Commissioner Javedullah responded to complaints about violence by informing the community that he is implementing measures to restore order in the district. He emphasized that the administration is doing its best to ensure safe movement within the area and is ready to assist local authorities in preventing any further outbreaks of violence. The situation is still volatile, but the authorities strive to restore order in the hassle-hit areas.

Role of Jirga and Mediation Efforts

Pir Haider Ali Shah, a Jirga member and former Member of the National Assembly, noted that they are continuing peace efforts and intend to reach a resolution that ends the hostilities. To solve issues, tribal elders were always vital in discussing problems and making treaties, so their presence was important.

It has already been the twelfth day since this occurrence. Kurram District has also seen similar instances of tribal warfare in the annals of history. With some even involving large carnages. Ethnocentricism and the existence of tribal factions, each one seeking supremacy over the other, have made it almost impossible for the people to enjoy peace. Even when several peace treaties have been signed. There has always been an outbreak of violence sooner or later, indicating how complex these disputes are.

The recent resurgence of ethnic violence in Karam District, Pakistan. raises once again the question of local authorities’ ability to respond to the manifold challenges related to peace and security. Security forces and the Jirga are actively engaging, providing us with little hope that peace will soon be achieved. Nevertheless, we must sustain such strategies in the present. We must address all possible strains of problems that may arise in the future.
