There is an interesting advancement in the study of the students of the Tecnológico de Monterrey due to its radical use of the AI-based platform called TECgpt. Developed as a generative AI system, this ecosystem seeks to individualize education, support learners, and increase creativity among teachers, all while reducing administrative burden.
TECgpt: A Revolution for Students TECgpt
David Balleza, a third-year computer systems engineering student, explains how TECgpt has impacted his studies. For instance, he used to shy away from approaching the professor regarding some abstract concepts. Now, with this aided educational system, Balleza exhaustively followed all instructions. “It’s like having a friend who is an expert on the topic and asks you anything,” he says deep in thought.
TECgpt, built with OpenAI’s GPT-4 technology and the Azure OpenAI Service, integrates both academic and administrative features into a fully functional system. It stands as one of the early large-scale AI efforts in Latin America aimed at enhancing education.
Real-Time Solutions for Learning Challenges TECgpt
The last Balleza faced regarded a very sophisticated computing algorithm, which he tried to learn through all the classes. His colleagues were not there to offer their assistance, and neither was his professor, so he decided to use Academic TECbot-a, a 24/7 AI-powered tutor conceived as TECgpt. In seconds, the bot explained the concept and its sphere of usage in simple terms, which, most importantly, Balleza was able to understand.
The Academic TECbot is also one of the search tool variants of the overall tools of the ecosystem of TECgpt. Professors upload their teaching materials and complement them with specific tutorial lessons to assist students when needed. Balleza, one of the students who contributed to a pilot program of the platform, mentioned that he was feeling more self-esteem and didn’t feel reluctant to engage in design studies after using the platform.
An Innovation’s History
History of Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education includes a lot of novelties related to computer-assisted education. Established more than eight decades Universityniversity began utilizing computers in the 1960s, making it a forerunner of educational reform. It is situated in Monterrey, a city characterized by industrial activities of MexUniversityniversity has always improved the education system with the latest technology.
“From the very first moment, we understood that AI was going to be such a huge monster that it would be better to design our path toward that market as fast as possible,” recalls Carles Abarca, who happens to be the vice president for digital transformatioUniversityniversity.
Access for Everyone
TECgpt can be accessed thrUniversity’sversity’s intranet on both desktops and mobile applications. The platform has clear leanings toward a segmented audience, whether that is the professors, students, or administrative staff. With a capacity to accommodate 35,000 employees and 90,000 students over two 25+ campuses, the TECgpt will change the face of education at the Tecnológico de Monterrey.
