The chief minister also expected Rs1.9 trillion from the federal government as a share in taxes and other revenues collected by the latter. Still, he expressed reservations about the minimum wage, which authorities fixed at Rs37,000 per month, arguing it should have been higher to address wage disparities and promote equitable economic growth.
He said that ongoing schemes would be given priority over new ones when allocating funds. The annual development program for the next financial year will be continued, as will all infrastructure development and public welfare projects. He indicated a pragmatic approach toward financial planning and resource allocation.
Moreover, he said he would not initiate any new scheme in flood-prone areas. Instead, he will divert resources towards disaster management and resilience building there. He added that the province is ready to face any eventuality arising from climate change hazards. And other environmental challenges like pollution, etc., besides adopting sustainable practices for their own sake.
He announced including Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s free electricity proposal in social protection initiatives. Along with solar energy projects, to reduce the cost of power generation and provide electricity to every corner of Sindh. He also announced the establishment of special healthcare facilities and recreational spaces for persons. With disabilities in different parts of the province to ensure their inclusive development.
