Simple ways to help keep you cool without AC

A few states are having record-breaking heat and delayed times of AC temperatures of more than 100 degrees. The intense intensity is influencing a huge number of individuals, particularly more seasoned individuals. Air conditioners help a lot in these situations, but they can be expensive and only available to some. Extended periods in extreme heat can be fatal, as it damages the brain and other organs. We sweat to cool down, but when this fails, there is a higher chance of getting heat stroke, among other issues.

Chill Out with These Easy Hints

Take Lots of Fluids

Our bodies need water to regulate temperature. Even if you do not feel parched, drink water regularly. Aim for a minimum of 8-10 glasses each day.

Have an AC Cold Bath or Shower

This will help reduce the body temperature quickly. To enhance the cooling effect, you can apply peppermint soap.

Employ Packs with AC cool or Cold Compresses.

Putting these on pulse points like wrists, neck, and forehead helps one cool down.

Remain Inside During Hottest Time

To avoid direct exposure to the sun, if possible, please stay indoors between 11 am and 3 pm when it is hottest outside.

Use AC Blinds that Block Light or Curtains

You can close curtains or blinds so that direct sunlight is blocked out, keeping your house cool. The market has special light-blocking curtains that help keep heat from entering the rooms.

Fan Yourself

If there is no air conditioner where you are, use fans. They move around the air, making you feel cooler.

Eat Cold Foods

Take salads, fruits, yogurt, etc., since these foods have a cooling effect on the body system. Hot, spicy ones increase body temperature, which may not be good during the summer season when temperatures are already high enough.

Keep Drinking

Make sure that you take plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and enable the body to regulate its temperature. Alcohol should be avoided as much as possible, for it dehydrates the body, along with caffeine, which has the same effect.
