Shahbaz Sharif Seeks Joint Projects with China

 

According to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, turning Pakistan’s brotherly relations with China into strong and mutually beneficial trade links is necessary is essential. In a meeting with representatives of international firms operating in the country, he expressed interest in establishing joint ventures with China across different sectors, particularly industry and textiles. The statement came as he received 150 Chinese business persons visiting Pakistan for local exhibitions.

Industrial & Textile Sector Collaborations

The Premier said that the next phase of CPEC will focus on business-to-business arrangements, especially in the industrial sector. So that these partnerships can help drive economic growth and development in Pakistan. He added that through collaboration with China in the textile industry and agricultural production sectors. Pakistan seeks to raise its industrial output while enhancing global competitiveness.

Shehbaz Sharif announced plans to send one thousand Pakistani agricultural graduates to China for specialized courses. We are implementing this initiative as part of a broader strategy to enhance Pakistan’s agricultural capabilities and ensure the country is well-prepared for modern farming needs. The Prime Minister also expressed his wish to see agricultural exports increase from $3bn during the last fiscal year to $7bn within a short span.

Education & Capacity Building

Another critical area identified by PM Shehbaz Sharif for collaboration between Pakistan and China is education. He said that after consulting with Chinese authorities, we will send Pakistani students to their universities for refresher courses to equip them with the necessary skills to contribute to the development process back home, especially in areas with high demands.

Commitment To Polio Eradication

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also reaffirmed his government’s commitment to eradicating polio from Pakistan by 2025. During an important review meeting on polio eradication. Before he proceeded, he met Chinese business representatives. The Premier highlighted that the people of these two countries had had exemplary brotherly relations that span centuries. Thus, mutual respect and cooperation exist among them; hence. More joint ventures can be expected across various sectors in the future.
