PTI Rejects SC Ruling on PML-N, Criticizes Bias

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party expressed strong resentment with the Supreme Court’s recent order reinstating Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Members of National Assembly (MNAs). PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, Shibli Faraz, and Rauf Hasan held a press conference to air their concerns. The feelings of anger and legal challenges PTI

Barrister Gohar asserted that the Supreme Court should have taken a second look at the role of the Election Commission. The party has vehemently opposed it, saying it upsets fairness. They want an immediate notification about who will be the next Chief Justice due to many conspiracies being alleged against them. Gohar said,” People will speak, and any attempts to undermine PTI will fail.”

Election Recount Issues PTI

Shibli Faraz stressed that this ruling was in line with what happened on 8 February. He outlined that Form 47 which was rejected by public while giving around sixty recount requests no decision were made regarding any one of them whereas PMLN’s request for recount was decided quickly. To him, this inconsistency further adds to discontentment over the judicial process.

Demanding for Judicial System Changes

Umar Ayub, a PTI Secretary-General and Opposite Leader in National Assembly said government pressurized judiciary for favorable decisions. Speaking outside the Anti-Terrorism Court after testifying before it, Ayub accused today’s administratof inflation acceleration andith mismanagement.

Possible Protests and Future Actions

Ali Muhammad Khan, a leader within stated that if federal govt uses Parliament to challenge specific seats’ SC decisions, PTI may think of mobilizing demonstrators. Khan claimed that without the implementation of the Supreme Court’s rulings, anarchy is possible. He warned that if the government continues to poke into the judiciary, PTI would resist it, indicating growing tension and civil strife can result from this.
