PTI Opposes Any Military Operations in Pakistan

 

Speaking to the media outside the Parliament House after staging a walkout in protest of the National Assembly’s budget consultation, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan stated that the authorities must now not behavior any operation with out taking the parliament into self belief. He delivered that PTI opposes this approach, emphasizing that democracy without opposition is a dictatorship.

He mentioned that permission is not granted to speak on points of order in the National Assembly. According to the Constitution, parliament remains supreme, and PTI is fulfilling its constitutional duties.

Retired Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser stated that the government is making such a significant decision without taking parliament into confidence. He emphasized that PTI does not support any operation and has discussed this matter with Khurshid Shah and leaders from the Muslim League (N).

He questioned the value of the parliament if it needs to be considered in such decisions. Asked which operations have been successful so far. Asad Qaiser further stated that PTI wants peace but stands against oppression. He criticized the government for imposing taxes on FATA and PATA while launching operations, calling it a martial law mindset. He demanded that the parliament be informed and consulted about any decision regarding an operation.

PTI Rejects Budget, Calls It Economic Terrorism

Opposition leader Omar Ayub stated that PTI cannot involve itself in someone else’s war. He called the budget economic terrorism and accused the government of enslaving the people of Pakistan, rejecting the budget entirely.

Omar Ayub also mentioned that Speaker Ayaz Sadiq did not give them time to speak and criticized his attitude toward the opposition. Hinting that the Speaker was working under pressure. He highlighted the issues of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s dues and the discrepancies in the budget. Accusing the federal government of owing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rs 198 billion.

He noted that Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan have given less surplus. Labeling the current government as anti-state while asserting that PTI Opposes represents the state. He called the budget fake and a form of economic terrorism.

Notably a day earlier, during a meeting of the National Action Plan’s Apex Committee chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The authorities approved “Operation Azm-e-Istahkam” for counter-terrorism.
