PM: The Time to End Terrorism Is Now, No Talks with Enemies

PM Shehbaz Sharif has reinforced the need for adherence to the Constitution of Pakistan and respect for its flag, insisting no one needs to hold discussions who are not willing to comply with these tenets of the country. Nonetheless, he made it clear in no uncertain terms that the state would not entertain any moderation, let alone negotiations, with its foes.

Fighting Terrorism at a Federal Cabinet Meeting

In one of the recent meetings of the federal cabinet in Pakistan, the PM of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, said that he was apprehensive about the present circumstances regarding combating terrorism in the country. He was sorry for the targeted violence against people who did not participate in the violence, which resulted in the loss of more than fifty civilians and security personnel. Referring to the Dera Ismail Khan and Karak events, the Prime Minister had ascertained that the attacks that have people as the target are due to the intolerance of terrorism perpetrated, which fundamentalist groups in Afghanistan usually plan.

Denouncing Balochistan’s Terrorism

In an address to the troops stationed in South Waziristan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif criticized the ongoing terrorism that hampers security and peace in Balochistan, stating that these acts are deliberate efforts to disrupt and destabilize the country. He cited the recent instance where terrorists stopped a bus and butchered helpless travellers without any fear. The Prime Minister emphasized that these assaults occur not only against the nation of Pakistan but seek to thwart the development of the country, especially on projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Pledge in The Fight against Terrorism

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif unequivocally stated in his address that Pakistan must eliminate terrorism permanently. He guaranteed that the government would fully equip the Pakistani Armed Forces and provide all necessary resources for conducting an effective war against terrorism. The Prime Minister said it is essential to identify the enemies of the nation and act on the same. The government is willing to engage in discussions with those who acknowledge the supremacy of the constitution and the flag of Pakistan. However, we will not permit disentanglements and a lenient approach to the state’s adversaries.

The Intentions Behind The Upcoming Visit to Balochistan

In the closing remarks of his speech, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated his intention to visit Balochistan shortly to see things for himself. He once again insisted that his administration is determined to restore peace and security within the country and promised to eliminate the plague and terror from that area for good.

Whenever there is a problem related to national security, PM, Shehbaz Sharif expresses his firm determination to deal with an insurgency within tribal and national borders on behalf of their government, which is an assurance of citizenship for the citizens of Pakistan. The Prime Minister clarified that the Armed Forces are fired up, have the necessary ammunition, and that the government will not tolerate treason. As the government readies itself for more aggressive approaches, the visit to Balochistan will be significant in the context of the issues that have beleaguered the state and the resolve to surmount instability.
