Olivia Tiedemann, the punk rock chef, is recognizable not only because of what she cooks. But how she feels about it. From traditional lobster rolls to upscale seafood shacks, Tiedemann lists her most cherished restaurants in the Hamptons.
The Enchantment of the Hamptons Olivia
Tiedemann had her first assignment as a personal chef in the Hamptons. And her breath was taken by this beautiful place. Witnessing this grand beachfront mansion owned by her client was for her, a ‘wow’ moment. “It was magical”, she remembers. An artistic cook who loves to show off her dishes, Tiedemann did not take long to adjust to the elaborate lifestyle of summering in the Hamptons- an extravagant summer getaway from the ordinary.
Enter the Hamptons Sunset Gallery: Spectacular spectacle worth the journey Olivia
In the case of Tiedemann, Hamptons is not only about the pleasures of well-off living. The physical characteristics of the island, put water on both sides, are the wonderful sunsets. “The entire sky becomes something brownish pink,” Tiedemann says trying to capture the special light that characterizes the Hamptons. Most visitors are attracted to the site during summer, but Tiedemann discloses that autumn, which has colorful foliage and fewer people, is the hidden jewel of the Hamptons. “It’s like a secret time,” she says, adding in appreciation of the locals as many of the places are still in operation during autumn only many do not appreciate the fall season and the crowds of people are not great when many local places are even better.
Food of The Hamptons
The richness of the Atlantic coast is mirrored In the food of the hamptons, as is the farm to fork culinary philosophy. Lobster, clams and seasonal vegetables are very popular. While far-fetched places put on and parade some celebrities on more understandable issues, good basic foods are everywhere. Tiedemann does not spare her clients any of her professional recommendations and combines these two culinary worlds.
Best for Splurging: The Crow’s Nest
Tiedemann suggests we try for the fine cuisine in the Crow’s Nest on Montauk Lake. The place is amazing, she says. The Crow’s Nest presents a modern American and Mediterranean cuisine enriched with seafood in a stylish shingle – clad, beachy interior. Set in a tiki style beach bar makes all in all a picturesque and calming feel that matches the distinct light that the Hamptons has.
Tiedemann says the tuna tartare with black caramel, cucumber, radish, smoked mango, and avocado on the side is her favourite. I can’t describe how good it was she says, appreciating the interesting fresh combinations. Tiedemann considers the restaurant to be a practical and beautiful place, where the stunning views, great food, and unique atmosphere come together perfectly.
