Lahore – In an honest account, famous actress Sadia Imam divulged for the first time a surprising and sad story about her wedding dress which did not respectively occur as intended. While attending a morning show on one of the private TV channels, the actress narrated the details of her original wedding gown, which, unfortunately, had an accident while still being prepared, calling for a rather unique measure of making her day all the more special.
The Ransom of the Woe
As one of the celebrity mothers in Pakistan, Sadia Imam has always been characterized by grace as well as glamour. She has certainly been into garments and fashion in design. She was actively engaged in the clothing industry during her wedding, so it was obvious that she was in charge of designing her wedding gown. But it can be said that believe it or not, she did not quite manage to do it as she thought she would.
During the dress’s construction, a short circuit became the cause of the fire that broke out in the workshop where the dress was being made. “The whole workshop was on fire because of the short circuit,” Sadia Imam said. “Everything was ruined including my wedding gown which I loved very much. It was very difficult for me at that time because I was working hard on it, and it was a masterpiece in my mother’s favorite color.”
This was most heartbreaking for Saadia. The dress was important to her and losing it right before her big day was upsetting. She assembled a whole ball of anxiety at the sight of her mother’s wedding dress being ravaged by flames, doused in water, and lying at her feet, her emotion escalating from one of shock to tearful disappointment.

Despite this problem, Sadia Imam managed to find a silver lining in a rather surprising manner. In the course of her activities in the clothes business, one of the customers of Saadia pledged a similar wedding gown. The gown was similar to hers in both construction and style, except this time it was cut for the customer’s wedding.
Caught off guard when the dress she was wearing disappeared, this was Sadia’s last attempt to contact this customer. She said what had happened and inquired whether it would be possible to see the dress in a photo. To Saadia’s amazement, the customer didn’t just reply to her request with a picture, she went above and beyond to such an extent that it left the actress dumbfounded. “The client rather helpfully suggested I borrow her wedding dress,” said Saadia. “She said how she was to have her wedding after mine and wanted me to use the dress for that special occasion. I was simply amazed at how considerate and nice she was.”

And on this day Sadia Imam walked wearing the dress of the customer and just surprised herself. Although the gown was not the one she had initially intended to wear on the day. It was equally beautiful and appropriate. This annoyed Saadia as she had never once thought that such a turn of events would have ever occurred. However, she was appreciative of the occasion and took satisfaction in the day.
She said that just because she wore her friend’s dress on that particular day could not be taken away. The happiness of such an occasion from her, but rather it enriched the memories of her wedding. “I was very grateful for such good people that were around me. When it was a very hectic period for me,” she said.
Making Amends: A New Dress for the Customer
Doctor Sadia Imam did not forget her customer who had lent her dress soon after the wedding day. In a very thoughtful move, Saadia had a replica of the dress made for the bride. Which the bride had worn for her wedding.
“I had a similar dress made exactly for her as I wore. It was a nice gesture on my part towards her for being generous, which she was. You see, she had rescued me and I wanted to make sure that. I returned the favor in making her day just as remarkable as mine.”
A Lesson in Gratitude and Kindness
The story of Sadia Imam and the wedding dress is full of such stories. Where one marvels at the ways life can be so unpredictable; good or bad. Losing the wedding dress was a catastrophe in itself but because of Saadia’s positivity and the goodwill of a stranger. What was supposed to be a tragedy was instead turned into a touching memory.
