Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister, also expressed her condolences, saying she had always heard such stories regarding these matters, but I witnessed it myself this time. She profoundly regretted for their families that they were not alone in this ordeal, and all other government officials, including departments across Punjab, also regretted it.

Moreover, because of this tragedy, Maryam Nawaz Sharif declared an emergency throughout Punjab province, expecting more rain later. She further directed the provincial administration to take all necessary precautions. So that similar incidents do not occur again due to negligence or otherwise by anybody within its territorial jurisdiction. She insisted on preparedness, requiring that even the commissioner and deputy commissioner. Any personnel from WASA should ensure full alertness at all times hereafter, especially those covering urban areas exposed to floods. She called for more attention in urban areas prone to flooding, emphasizing. There is a need for an effective drainage system to alleviate heavy rain.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif applauded the city of Lahore for its praiseworthy actions in draining floodwater. She also noted that relevant officers must monitor this work until they eliminate all traces of water after rain. She urged administrators and WASA to use whatever resources were available and not submerge any road underwater for long durations. The directive aimed to prevent further inconvenience to people and save infrastructure from destruction due to standing water.

Also, the Chief Minister stressed the establishment of the following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). By the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to manage flood conditions effectively. According to her, the Government must first ensure the safety of lives and their property regardless of what may happen afterward. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif has assured the general public that their government will do everything. Just like in the past, to protect them from the effects of these heavy downpours. Which can lead to flooding anytime soon.

To me, this reflects a great deal of dedication and sympathy from the government toward the immediate problems faced. By families affected and also towards preventing future tragedies through proper planning and allocation.
