Maryam Nawaz Urges Unity Amid Political Differences

 

Pakistan observed its 77th Independence Day with a heartfelt speech from Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, at Hazoori Bagh. There, she welcomed the diplomats present and thanked them for their presence. It was an appeal for togetherness and collective action recognizing the importance of setting aside politics in the country’s best interest.

Maryam Nawaz began her address by highlighting two main things – political stability and national unity. “If we move forward as one nation, free from strife and discord, we can transform Pakistan into an ideal country,” she said. She congratulated all politicians who helped build Pakistan, especially Nawaz Sharif, for making it a nuclear power, among other honorable mentions. In addition, she paid tribute to the efforts made by the armed forces of Pakistan, police forces, and security agencies. Civil servants who work tirelessly to serve people.

Honoring All People of Pakistan and the Young Generation

Maryam Nawaz’s message was also about gratitude to Allah, who gave Pakistan independence. Addressing this critical group in society, she reminded them they would determine what would happen with Pakistan tomorrow and stressed their importance in building the future nation. Flag Hosting at Lahore Forts

The chief minister boosted the national flag at Alamgiri Gate of Lahore Fort, followed by the national anthem. She also participated in a special event at Hazoori Bagh and paid her respects to Allama Iqbal’s mausoleum. Maryam Nawaz laid wreaths, prayed, and appreciated the visionary poet there.

Ceremonial Salute and Cultural Performances

Badshahi Mosque’s stairs featured Boy Scouts performing a ceremonial salute for the Chief Minister while school bands played melodious tunes. Students from different parts of Pakistan dressed traditionally and gave her hearty applause.

Walton Road Project Visit

That same day, she made an impromptu tour of the Walton project in the CBD area. Inspecting progress along Road 47 connecting Kalma Chowk with Walton. Specifically, the Walton Road Drain was reviewed amidst other construction activities. Maryam directed that this work be completed immediately without compromising the quality of both road and drainage systems.

Similarly, after his demise, the Chief Minister passed her condolences to journalist Ikhlaq Ahmed Bajwa’s family.
