Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has announced the establishment of Centers of Excellence for 300 special education schools across Punjab. The Chief Minister participated in a special education event to kick-start the Hearing Aid Distribution and Enrollment Campaign throughout Punjab and left her seat to sit among special children. The Chief Minister lifted a special girl in her arms. She visited the setup stalls for hearing aids established in collaboration with UNICEF and GPIC, observed medical tests for hearing-impaired children, and witnessed the artwork and painting by special children. The Chief Minister was presented with photographs and sketches by students of Special Education in Sargodha. She expressed admiration for the artwork and drawings made by the children.
Before delivering her speech
The Chief Minister invited special children onto the stage. Instead of using the traditional podium, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif addressed the children directly while sitting among them.
Addressing the ceremony of Special Education, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said, “These dear children are everyone’s heroes to me.” She thanked UNICEF, GPIC, and Special Education for providing hearing aids and congratulated them. She conveyed immense joy upon meeting the special children and referred to them as heroes. I emphasized that while it may be easy for some to achieve things with all resources at their disposal, these children excel despite facing challenges. I noted that despite their inability to climb stairs or hear, they still attend school, making them the true heroes. She expressed amazement and delight at the paintings and artwork created by special children, and she extended her congratulations to their teachers.

Centers of Excellence for special children are being established in every district, equipped with international standard facilities. They will do everything necessary to mainstream special children. Funds have been allocated, and a special institution for autism will be established. Today, hearing aids are being provided. If special children are provided with hearing aids and glasses, they will transition from special schools to mainstream schools. The love she received from these children today has made her committed to serving them even more. Meeting with children increased her commitment to serving special children by a hundred percent.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz mentioned that a child asked about Nawaz Sharif through gestures. She promised to convey the message of this child.
