The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, visited the Sahiwal Teaching Hospital to offer her condolences to the families of the 13 children who perished in the tragic incident. She also regretted what had transpired and said the hospital’s management was careless and ill-prepared.
Maryam Nawaz met with the parents of the dead children during her visit and heard their reservations. She also went through the inquiry report and CCTV footage of the incident. The Chief Minister expressed disappointment over negligence and lack of preparedness.
She announced awards for rescuers who saved children besides ordering an investigation into the matter.
Parents of deceased children also talked to the Chief Minister, expressing their grief as well as anger.
