Maryam Nawaz Approves Anti-Corruption Authority

 

Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the current Chief Minister, established the Punjab Anti-Corruption Authority to combat corruption. All necessary steps have been initiated for its establishment.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif commended the Deputy Commissioners and their teams for performing brilliantly during Eid ul Adha and expressed her deep satisfaction over the entire team’s performance. She said public service should be done with the same spirit and commitment. According to the Chief Minister, the Punjab Enforcement Authority will ensure that goods are being sold to people at official rates.

This authority will inspect the quality of food items, monitor demand and supply, and conduct raids against adulteration throughout the province. It also has the power to impose fines. This department will also ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of commodities through strict law implementation. Additionally, it will work with the administration to take necessary actions against illegal encroachments.

On the other hand, the Chief Minister chaired a special meeting yesterday. The overall performance regarding Eid al-Adha and other administrative matters across the province was reviewed. Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized that Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and Assistant Commissioners should dedicate one day a week to the public, regularly visit hospitals and schools, and establish a permanent control room in every district for monitoring, similar to the one used during Eid. This initiative aims to ensure continuous and effective public service delivery.

The Chief Minister also praised the performance of Provincial Information Minister Uzma Zahid Bukhari. Provincial Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafiq is in Charge of the CM Complaint Cell Shoaib Mirza. And Special Assistants Zeeshan Malik and Rashid Nasrullah. She acknowledged their efforts and appreciated their dedication. She noted that the media, public representatives, and the public responded positively to the cleanliness maintained during Eid. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif personally visited and reviewed the arrangements, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s praise for the efforts was considered an honor.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif stressed that the standard of cleanliness established during Eid must be maintained at all costs. She also stated that reducing fuel prices should decrease fares to relieve the public. Preparations should be made in advance for Muharram, floods, and potential rains to ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens. A sustainable mechanism should also be developed to provide affordable essential food items to the commoner.

In the meeting, one minister expressed his longing for their bureaucracy and administration to emulate Punjab’s, highlighting the effectiveness and dedication of the provincial administration. He stated that he does not wish to be harsh with anyone, as being strict burdens his heart. He emphasized his accountability to Allah and the nation regarding public rights. Asserting that the public’s interest and convenience precede everything else.

The Punjab enforcement authority announced by Maryam Nawaz Sharif represents a significant move toward ensuring fairness. The market and improving the quality of life for Punjab residents.
