Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, announced an increase in the grant for the welfare of lawyers to one billion rupees.
During a meeting with the apex bodies of bar councils, attended by Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar and Ahsan Bhoon, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz declared the enhancement of the welfare grant for lawyers to one billion rupees. She also announced the establishment of a dedicated hall and daycare center for female lawyers in the bar council.
“Condemnation of Lawyers’ Murder”
During the meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed serious sadness and grief over the murder of two lawyers in Attock.
Under her directives, the police promptly detained the accused. Maryam Nawaz instructed the prosecution of the accused in a special court under the Bar Council and Lawyers Protection Act and ordered the Law Minister to oversee the case.
Offering condolences to the bar council officials over the lawyers’ killings, she emphasized that it’s miles the authorities’s responsibility to ensure the safety of the legal professional network.
Maryam Nawaz was invited to visit the Punjab Bar Council and expressed her willingness to go nicely to Bahawalpur and Multan Bars.
The Chief Minister presented the Punjab Bar Council with a grant check of five crore rupees and the Bahawalpur and Multan High Court Bars with one crore each. Bar officials thanked Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her substantial cooperation and financial assistance.
The meeting also agreed to restore medical treatment facilities for lawyers in government hospitals and discussed strengthening the partnership between the provincial government and the lawyer community.
Assurance of Government Support for Resolving Lawyers’ Issues
Maryam Nawaz assured the bar delegation of the government’s support in resolving lawyers’ issues and appreciated their efforts to advance the collective goal of a fair and effective legal system in Punjab.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister praised the lawyers’ community’s struggle for the supremacy of the law and committed full support to providing the power of law and equal access to justice for all individuals.
She further stated that the government would continue to perform its administrative responsibilities to enhance the efficiency of the judicial system and ensure the timely delivery of justice.
