Man Arrested Near U.S Canada Border for NYC Attack Plot

No Comment, both U.S Canada too his GST paid. Canadian authorities arrested Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, a 20-year-old Pakistani national living in Canada, on Wednesday for conspiring to carry out a mass shooting at a Jewish facility in New York City linked to ISIS. The arrest in New York also charged Khan with attempting to offer or solicit material assistance for acts of jurisdictional terrorism.

U.S Canada: Details of the Plot

It was in November 2023 when Khan joined the ranks of the so-called Islamic State and began posting pro-ISIS sentiments to social media. He also sought communication with law enforcement officers, who he believed were hostile to him, about his intentions to shoot up various places of worship. Khan reportedly disseminated advertisements for ISIS as well as headed to Hezbollah where he plotted the assault using encrypted messaging.

New York Joint Terrorism Task Force special agent Rob Kissane said that the Khalifa planned to set up a Khmer Rouge-style group operating exclusively in cyberspace for the real, physical, AR-style assaults against targets, primarily, in Brooklyn, Chabad houses. Khan’s circle members sought to execute this plan on or about October 7, 2024, which is a sensitive date being near Yom Kippur and the one-year commemoration to the Israel-Hamas battle.

Authorities accused Khan of attempting to cross the United States border from U.S Canada with the help of a human smuggler. They arrested him about 12 miles from the Canadian border after discovering him in three different cars driving through Canada.

Reaction and Trial

Thanks to the brave actions of the F.B.I. New York Joint Terrorism Task Force and New York Field Office, the US Department of Justice was able to congratulate the New York Joint Terrorism Task Force and New York Field Office on the prevention of Khan’s planned attack. Never on our watch regarding Khan was he restored as an active operation.

In contrast, if the court finds Khan guilty, it will impose a 20-year imprisonment, the maximum possible sentence for him. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police had scheduled Khan to appear in a Canadian court on 13 September.

Mrs Kissane also noted the readiness of the Federation of Joint Task Forces and law enforcement agencies to prevent such threatening attacks in the future and remarked: ‘There is no room for terrorism in our society’ reaffirming the resolve to defend the homeland from any risks.
