Lahore: Madiha Imam shares that her husband Moji Basar is 4.5 years younger than her.
Madiha Imam, a Pakistani actress with a flair for acting and suiting well on screen, has recently shed some light on her life. Straightforwardly, during a YouTube candid session, she said that her husband, Moji Basar, is younger than her by 4.5 years. The two got married recently in May 2023 and how they got to that point was also how Madiha narrated it in a cut out interview.
First Meeting With Moji Basar
In such circumstances, Madiha Imam Came to meet ‘Moji Basar’ for the first time in 2016 on the shooting of a Bollywood movie “Dear Maya.” Moji, at that period, was working on the productions as an intern while Madiha was the lead heroine in the film. On this phenomenon, Madiha accepted that she was also attracted to Moji the first time they met.
She explained, “I liked Moji from the very first meeting and had already made up my mind to tell him the next morning.” However, her plans were altered when she found out that Moji didn’t show up at the set the following day. While trying to find out what happened, she learned that he was out with his girlfriend, which made her suppress her feelings even more. After that, they became friends, and for several years, their relationship remained platonic.
Reconnecting After A Break in 2021
Moving forward to the year 2021, once again Moji Basar got in touch with Madiha. This time, he wanted her assistance on his podcast. Since there was more and more interaction between them, their discussions began to evolve and the two of them started perceiving each other differently.
Madiha shared, “After a few meetings, we both realized that we wanted to spend our lives together.” From the transition of being friends, it got to something serious and it was not long before Moji asked Madiha to be his wife.
A Serious Commitment Despite Age Yang Discrepancy
Madiha Imam was 31 when Moji popped the question while he was 27. Well, there was no doubt in their minds that they were getting married. Even Madiha admitted that both she and Moji were adults when they were younger and the age gap was not a bother.
She looked back at what she had already said during the interview, adding: “We were both very committed to the concept of marriage and while there is a difference in years, we were happy to take the plunge anyway.”
Marriage and Family Challenges
The impressive wedding of the couple took place in May 2023 in Dubai but the couple faced a lot of challenges before making their way to the altar. Madiha recalls that her father had an accident a few days before the program, which also prevented her mother from going abroad. Their parents therefore were not able to attend the event in person. Instead, her sisters were in attendance at the wedding with their parents on a video out of the country due to their health problems.
The actress equally stated that because of the ill health of the husband, both of them chose to push the date of March walima to after the husband had healed completely. The reception however took place four months afterwards also in Dubai.
Reflections on Age and Maturity
When asked a particular question during the interview, Madiha expressed her husband-wife age and maturity difference. Madiha accepted there would be a difference in reasoning and emotion due to the age disparity. But still, she does not see it as a big worry.
Madiha states, “I agree that there are some maturity differences between Moji and me because. He is younger than me, but it does not bother me.” She said that she thinks Moji is still young as he enters his 30s. He will start to grow similar to the changes that have already been experienced by her.
A Hopeful Future Together
Though there are several challenges and differences, Madiha Imam is very confident about their togetherness shortly. The actress believes that their relationship will only blossom further when it is time. They will be able to combat all the challenges that life throws in their way as one unit.
