The Ministry of Interior accepted to the National Assembly that the country’s security in Law & Order Crisis enforcement and the state of affairs are worsening. The ministry stated that it has prepared the 2024 National Policy for Preventing Violent Extremism draft, which the federal cabinet will adopt shortly, in response to questions on the assembly floor. The ministry further indicated that there are continuous activities on building the fence, securing the border, watching the uninhabited paths, and changing standard operating Procedures for the CPEC and other project workers who are Chinese and also the migrants.

The Ministry of Transportation provided evidence of the periods when there were terrorist attacks against Chinese and Japanese nationals in different regions from the year 2020-2024. In the province of Sindh, there were four attacks against Chinese and Japanese nationals in which five foreigners and five locals perished. Regional Breakdown

This alarming statistic underscores the existing threats to the country’s security and the need for further attention and improvements in counterterrorism. The law and order situation in the country, as admitted by the Ministry of Interior, is again one of the unfortunate facts considering Pakistan’s prevailing security situation and the touted National Policy for Preventing Violent Extremism that seeks to overcome such issues.
