Khalilur Rehman Qamar Honey Trap: 9 Accused in 7-Day Remand

In a famous case of ‘honey-trap’ and abduction, Khalilur Rehman Qamar who is a well-known dramatist in Pakistan, has gotten seven days of physical remand for nine co-accused. The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) granted this request. According to the ATC direction, an investigative officer must present his report on the next hearing date.

Court Hearing and Identification Parade

During the hearing, the suspects identified during the identification parade were presented before ATC Judge Khalid Arshad. Among those presented were Amna’s sister, Maryam, and Hassan Shah’s relative, Shumail. The nine co-accused of Amna Aruj were identified by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar while they were in jail.

Discharge of Maryam and Shumail

The court discharged Maryam Shehzadi, Amna’s sister, and Shumail from the case. The investigative officer reported that Shumail was not identified during the identification parade. Although Maryam was part of the gang, she did not have a direct role in the kidnapping. Based on this, the court ordered her discharge, stating that if she had no role in the kidnapping, she should be released.

Identified Accused

The identified co-accused include Tanveer, Qaiser Abbas, Rasheed, Falak Sher, Mian Khan, Yasir, Javed Iqbal, Zeeshan Qayum, and Mamoon Haider. These suspects were successfully identified during the identification parade.

Legal and Investigative Proceedings

Police are allowed to keep the identified suspects in custody for seven days to investigate them further. The investigating officer has been directed to gather substantial evidence and submit a detailed report at the next court sitting. This is significant for the investigative team as it seeks more information regarding the case and each accused person’s involvement in it.

Case Background

This celebrity case has attracted much media attention because Khalilur Rehman Qamar, an entertainment industry figure, is involved. Allegations of honey trapping followed by kidnapping for ransom form part of the allegations against him. The fact that even he was able to identify his assailants adds another layer to this already complex matter.

As nine co-accused persons were given physical remand by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), they have taken a crucial step towards solving this puzzle involving many people who are suspected criminals. Maryam Shehzadi and Shumail were discharged due to their non-involvement in abduction activities but still keeping justice alive according to ATC rules shows how fair courts can be when dealing with such cases. Further findings from investigations presented during the next hearing will determine whether or not those involved in high-profile cases like these should be held accountable for their actions or not since there might always be some biases within judicial systems that need correction through law reforms aimed at promoting equity among all stakeholders regardless of status or wealth level differences between them – rich vs poor etcetera.
