Reports put forth by the Meteorological Department indicate that the recorded minimum temperature for this city in August was 23.5 degrees Celsius and this has been the trend since last year. This is quite low with regard to the stance that it is more than above normal. August generally records a minimum temperature of 26.7 degrees Celsius. The temperature recorded last night was even more below this norm by 3.2 degrees Celsius. Indicating an unexpected cooling trend in this period.
This cooling, as is commonly the case in most warm months, is very much out of the ordinary concerning the temperature in August, particularly in Karachi. The recent fall in temperatures is mainly due to the monsoon season and consequent rains.
