Donald Trump and Kamala Harris stood before each other for the first time in their presidential debates in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, October 22 2019. The principles were practiced by participation within an event which lasted for 90minutes of uncompromising personal comments and exchanges. Harris was very active in the debate and aggressively attacked such that most of the time. Trump was on the receiving end of the oral assault.
Kamala Harris, It is Time to Change the Strategy
As the US President, Harris rarely missed the chance to interrupt trump with his rallies, his person. And the events regarding the storming of the Capitol. Such attacks were clearly effective in angering trump. And forcing him on the defense instead of on the issues. And her goal was obvious. Don’t let trump speak, rather make him repell to her verbal assaults.
In one of the earlier incidents regarding the topic of immigration. In modifying the subject Harris had some sarcasm regarding the involvement of people in the rallies. And their possibility of leaving them owing to boredom. That some of them might leave early. This comment went out of the sales even after trump insisted. Most of his comment was focusing on why his rallies were so popular instead of how useful such conversations focused on immigration were. It was one of those rare times. When Harris managed to change the discourse away from the issues policy to populism in this instance Trump, and his ego.
Trump’s Unfamiliar Game: Counter-Insurgencies

Instead, his answer was long-winded and ambiguous. Kamala Harris utilized that opportunity to reach out to families hurt due to strict laws against abortions; calling them, “Trump abortion bans.”
Public and Polling Reactions
From the perspective of substantive content of the message and its articulation based upon the strengths of the debaters. Harris stood out amongst the rest. This was supported by a CNN snap poll that was released to viewers right after the debate and showed that Harris dominated. Betting markets also captured a shift in sentiment from Harris to herself after the debate.
Harris Gaining Official Support Harris’ tactic of Offensive Trump seems to have paid off for her. The debate so far has addressed important issues including the economy. And abortion, but the most important factor that determined the outcome of the night was Harris’ capability to commandeer the discussion. And put Trump on the back foot. Still, there is a possibility of public opinion changing. However, this debate swayed the trajectory towards Harris.
