A big thing has happened in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The Judicial Commission is meeting to discuss ad-hoc judges. The Chief Justice of Pakistan called this meeting, which will take place on July 19th. Four ad-hoc judges will be appointed to the Supreme Court during this critical meeting, which will involve many unfinished cases.
Justice Supreme Court
Justice (Retd.) Mushir Alam and Justice (Retd.) According to reliable sources, Maqbool Baqar has been nominated by the Chief Justice for appointment as an ad hoc judge. In addition to these two eminent jurists, other names are also under consideration, such as Justice (Retd.) Mazhar Alam Mian Khel & Justice (Retd.) Sardar Tariq Masood Khan. They had a very illustrious career, and their experience would benefit our system greatly if selected.
This strategic decision
This strategic decision aims to address the pressing issue of case pendency in SC, which has reached alarming levels over time. Additional judges are, therefore, seen as necessary steps for the timely dispensation of justice, as the backlog is already a growing concern. Sources close to judiciary staff suggest that this move is part of wider efforts to improve efficiency within the court systems while dealing with delay-prone points.
Per the proposed plan, ad hoc appointments can be made among those retired for three years or less. We said that we should try them so that they do not forget everything they learned while still serving there, so we should make them learn more again but differently.
Suppose any judge
Suppose any judge who was on the Supreme Court bench fails to qualify. In that case, they may still serve the term given by legislation in a capacity other than a justiciable position. Though deemed necessary, such provisions were implemented so people did not lose faith afterward. What had happened earlier without restrictions imposed upon office bearers having failed the examination process intentionally or otherwise?
