Jamaat-e-Islami Protests: Talks Ongoing with Government

 

Negotiations between the government and Jamaat-e-Islami have begun at Commissioner House, Rawalpindi, which makes a specialty of excessive electricity expenses, taxes, and inflation. Jamaat-e-Islami’s Representation

Jamaat-e-Islami’s four-member negotiation team, led by Deputy Amir Liaqat Baloch, is also gifted at the Commissioner House. The group is steadfast in its demands, which consist of full-size relief in power payments and discounts in taxes and inflation.

This negotiation follows Jamaat-e-Islami’s ongoing take-a-seat-in at Liaqat Bagh, Rawalpindi, which has entered its 1/3 day.   5. Remove taxes on educational and training items, including stationery.
  6. A 35% cut in non-developmental expenditures.
  7. Termination of capacity payment agreements with Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and cessation of payments in dollars.
  8. A 50% reduction in the unjust and unbearable tax burden on agriculture and industry.
  9. Ensuring industry, trade, and investment to stimulate economic activity and provide employment to the youth.
  10. Removing heavy taxes on low-income earners and placing taxes on the wealthy.

The dialogue aims to find a resolution that addresses those pressing problems. The government has shown a willingness to engage in serious discussions to attain a consensus that alleviates the general public’s hardships.
