Islamabad Suspends PTI Rally NOC, Court Appeal

Islamabad: The PTI’s decision to withhold the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the July 6 rally has led to its decision to go legal.

The Islamabad Chief Commissioner held a press meeting regarding Muharram, discussing security concerns. Despite being invited, one political party did not attend the conference. Applications for the same rally were reviewed during this session.

The Deputy Commissioner had to reconsider his permission to hold the rally in light of the present security situation.

The Chief Commissioner suspended the NOC based on received applications, the current situation, the imminent arrival of Muharram, security concerns, and advice from law enforcement and other agencies.

The Islamabad administration stated that suspending the NOC for the rally would protect lives and property, maintain public peace, and ensure citizens’ safety.
