Islamabad: Members of the Sunni Ittehad Council conducted a protest march from the Parliament House to the Supreme Court building, demanding the immediate release of the PTI founder and the formation of a judicial commission to expose the rigging in the February 8 elections. They also opposed any military operations in KPK.
On Tuesday, there was a protest march from Parliament House to the Supreme Court in Islamabad. Included hundreds of participants carrying banners and placards. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that the walk from Parliament to the Supreme Court during the special budget session aimed to alert the rulers to take action. He mentioned that justice is not being seen in the courts and that the walk was held for the release of Khan Sahib, Bushra Bibi, and other detained women. He condemned the re-arrest of women after their initial release as a violation of human rights. The protest will continue until their people are released.
Opposition leader Omar Ayub Khan emphasized that the walk was not just by 180 parliamentarians but represented 30 million voters. He opposed any military operations in KPK. Standing alongside genuine provincial and national assembly members who won elections under Form 45. Omar Ayub Khan reiterated that they do not accept candidates with fake Form 47. Before the march, the parliamentary party meeting of PTI and the Sunni Ittehad Council was held at the Parliament House under Omar Ayub’s leadership. With 172 members in attendance, including Rehana Dar, Seemabia Tahir, and party candidates from across the country. The leaders asserted that their parliamentary party was complete and expected favourable decisions from the tribunals soon. Omar Ayub Khan stated that they do not recognize any candidate with a fake Form 47. The parliamentary meeting decided on a solid protest both inside and outside Parliament.
