The Islamabad Chief Commissioner organized a vital meeting to address security concerns over the Muharram-ul-Haram period and related issues. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Islamabad issued a permission letter allowing the Tehreek-e-Insaf rally in Tarnol, raising serious security concerns among the authorities.

During this session, they conducted an in-depth evaluation of the risks posed by the proposed PTI meeting, which brought significant risks that needed addressing. This evaluation aimed to ensure the organization could maintain peace and orderliness.

After much deliberation about potential outcomes, he withdrew the No Objection Certificate from the DC’s office to allow PTI’s meeting at Tarnol. This decision aims to prevent possible attacks on lives, property, and public tranquility in Islamabad during these sensitive times.

Security reasons were enough for them to cancel it all; they have been looking into this matter from very far back. Both Commissioners reviewed the current security situation while considering various measures to safeguard people and maintain peaceful coexistence amongst communities living together within our beloved country, Pakistan. Legal & Further Steps Tehreek-e-Insaf rally

After Omar Ayub heard about what had transpired, he expressed his dissatisfaction by announcing plans to challenge this matter through courts where necessary until justice prevails. He believes strongly that there are grounds which can be used against the Chief Commissioner’s decision while quoting laws relating to public gathering rights vis-à-vis national security interests within city limits of Islamabad…

Summary

The withdrawal of the NOC for PTI’s meeting at Tarnol shows how difficult it is sometimes to ensure people’s safety without infringing upon their constitutional rights, especially when dealing with sensitive periods like Muharram ul Haram.

What happens next remains anybody’s guess as more legal wrangles continue unfolding amidst heated debates over future policy direction concerning public order management during mass gatherings organized around key AEAPs (Annual Events Attracting Publicity) in the Pakistani context, particularly those related religious observances taking place annually throughout the Islamic world.
