Iran Vows Revenge for Hamas Leader Haniyeh’s Assassination

 

Ayatollah Khamenei has promised to take revenge on Hamas’ political head and ex-Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh. The Zionists had a reason to retaliate, he stated.

Iran Strongly Condemns

This assassination took place on Iranian territory, so Israel has made itself worthy of punishment, he asserted. Similarly, Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian warned Israel this morning and vowed serious consequences for the killing of Haniyeh. The president promised that revenge would be taken for Haniyeh’s assassination and that Israel would regret its actions. Pezeshkian said Iran will defend its territorial integrity and dignity.

IRGC Reaction

This morning, the IRGC released a statement promising a “harsh and painful response” to the assassination of Haniyeh. Both Iran and the Axis of Resistance would reply to this crime, according to IRGC.

Investigation And Background

An investigation into Ismail Haniyeh’s assassination will be concluded soon by Iranian officials as well. Today in an assassination attack in Iran former Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh was martyred according to Hamas which confirmed his death stating that Israeli agents had targeted him vowing revenge.

Incident Details

According to Iranian media reports at 2 AM head of Hamas’ political wing, Ismail Haniyeh was attacked at his residence in Tehran while he was attending the inauguration ceremony for new President Massoud Pezeshkian in Iran where representatives from more than 70 countries including Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon were present along with Hamas leader Ismail Haniya and Ziyad al-Nakhalah Islamic Jihad leader

Funeral Arrangements

Hamas political chief Ismail Haniya will be buried in Doha on Friday but funeral prayers are scheduled for tomorrow in Tehran according to Iranian media outlets.
