A special anti-terrorism court rejected Imran Khan’s interim bail in three cases dated May 9. Judge Khalid Arshad delivered the reserved judgment from July 6 of the special anti-terrorism court in Lahore after hearing arguments made by lawyers. Who canceled these interim bails concerning arson and vandalism at Jinnah House, Askari Tower, and Shadman police station? It was a significant setback for Imran Khan, given his recent multiple brushes with the law.

Judge Khalid Arshad asked Mr. Imran Khan’s lawyers before passing judgment since. He did not see any one of them around him anywhere after that. He was informed that Salman Safdar was in Islamabad. In contrast, junior lawyer Abdullah had come but disappeared from this courtroom several days ago. Our lordship directed the prosecution to contact a lawyer representing PTI. Judge Khalid Arshad stated they shall give a short order today, highlighting its necessity and importance.

Before this, there was a hearing on the interim bails of former Prime Minister Imran Khan at ATC Lahore on July 6. Where government counsel filed a statement of the Morning of May 9 recorded by IK himself and the record thereof. Based upon it, government counsel prayed the dismissal of his bail application, followed by his arrest.

They needed to investigate further to establish which prima facie case had been proven against him. Per the government counsel’s statement. This request made by the government lawyer underlined the seriousness of the charges against him. Imran Khan underscored the need for a thorough investigation into Khan’s situation.

Imran Khan’s counsel rejoiced, saying they had assured the court they would not seek bail for a year. The opposition would keep silent. It also came to light that ATC has been sitting on this bail for five months without any request for arrest. Which shows prosecutions in the prosecution’s case. Moreover, he submitted that witnesses produced by the trial had nothing to do with this matter. He said one witness had argued that a sub-inspector learned about conspiracy during Chakri patrol duty, yet such a claim seems dubious at best. In defense, he aimed to expose the prosecutorial case’s weakness and lack of evidence.

From then on, this court reserved judgment on interim bail cases, including the Jinnah House case. The rejection of Imran Khan’s bail and the order for his appearance via video link indicate ongoing legal battles for the PTI leader and a deteriorating political environment in Pakistan, where multiple lawsuits challenge him concurrently with his political career.

The court’s decisions will impact Imran Khan’s party. This move concerns concerns and the Leader’s future. Legal proceedings in Pakistan continue amid an unclear political situation, with a risk of actions targeting Khan’s administration. Imran Khan’s denial of bail is crucial in an ongoing saga demonstrating the intricate relationship between Pakistani law and politics.
