Ijaz-ul-Haq Criticizes Leaders, Honors Martyrs

Ijaz-ul-Haq mourned the lack of adequate leadership among Muslim Ummah after General Zia-ul-Haq. He expressed his disappointment in the absence of solid Muslim leaders. Who can stand up against global injustices, especially what is happening to Palestinians by Israel.

A Void in Leadership

Ijaz-ul-Haq drew attention to how more than 1.5 billion Muslims around the world, including those in Pakistan, have been witnessing the continuing violence in Palestine, where Israelis have been killing children, women, and older adults. These horrific events aside, no Muslim leader, he says, has had the guts to raise their voice against such oppression on an international platform. He cited Yasser Arafat’s remarks that a leader like General Zia should have been living next door to Palestine because he would have handled Israel as firmly as he did with Russia.

Call for Protection of Finality of Prophethood

Khatm-e-Nubuwwat (the Finality of Prophethood) was another issue that Ijaz-ul-Haq touched on and requested caution when dealing with it at the court level. According to him, anyone speaking out against Khatm-e-Nubuwwat should be met with stiff resistance from all quarters. Unity among Muslims is crucial for defending this cardinal belief.

National Crisis and Economic Challenges

During a consultative meeting on the arrangements for the 36th anniversary of Bahawalpur martyrs held at Jauhar Hall, Jauharabad, Ijaz-ul-Haq stated about the present situation in the country. The public is struggling to pay electricity bills and gas charges, let alone school fees for their children, they are certainly not going through good times now. Many people find themselves highly burdened economically even though they continue striving so much until they feel completely frustrated and hopeless.

Rejection of Bangladesh-Like Situation

Ijaz-ul-Haq negated any comparisons between Pakistan’s present situation. And the events leading to the creation of Bangladesh as he termed them naïve and unrealistic. He assured us that Pakistan is not moving towards such a happening and that these apprehensions are baseless.

Tribute to Bahawalpur Martyrs

In this regard, Ijaz-ul-Haq announced that there would be a seminar held on August 17 in Rawalpindi Arts Council. Shamsabad in order to pay tribute to martyrs of Bahawalpur. The occasion is expected to provide an opportunity to pay homage to their sacrifices as well as appreciate General Zia. Who acted like a pillar of strength for the Muslim Ummah, according to Ijaz-ul-Haq.
