Google Launches Video Search Feature with AI Integration

Google has launched a new feature that allows users to search the internet using a video recording. In this latest video search function, users request an answer by showing an object and searching the answers using the camera. The system will initially support only English and will be available worldwide to Android and iPhone owners from 1700 GMT by turning on ‘AI Overviews’ in the Google app. Today’s step has also become one of the steps Google has taken to use artificial intelligence to change how we do Internet searches.

Integrating Artificial Intelligence in Search Google

The video search feature seems to take off after all other changes in AI in search. Just three months ago, OpenAI, the parent company for ChatGPT, commenced a trial of search using chatbots. Dickerson regarded this as evil, even if the emergence of additional informational results was arguable during Google’s testing of these interfaces. For instance, one recommendation of teaching the AI system that cheese should attach better to pizzas when using “non-toxic glue” was also inaccurate. Google was able to respond to such problems, so now the system is much more accurate and effective.

Search engines have also made a video search decision and have included AI technology in the process of taking images through Google Lens, due to which it is possible to ask questions about still pictures. This has contributed positively to the fame of the lens, making Google seek to enhance its functions even more.

The Working Principles of the Video Search Google

Google’s Head of Search, Liz Reid, has noted that the new video search option allows users to ask various questions about the world more easily. For example, a person in an aquarium would point the camera at a group of fish and make a video to ask why the fish swim in a group. Google’s AI would review the video and search for relevant information about the fish in it.

Sector specialist Paolo Pescatore similarly termed this move a ‘big thing’ for Google as it further supports that visual search goes hand in hand with AI. He said that this feature is an example of how AI helps augment reality with imaginative content tailored to the user’s behavior and practices.

Other Search Updates

Besides the video search functionality, Google also managed to roll out a few other updates. Review results for the Shopping tab also include reviews and prices from numerous sellers, offering a broader scope of information to customers. The giant has also introduced a new tool targeting Shazam, the Apple application that identifies music. The new functionality, which can be accessed by the Circle to Search on the Android app, allows identifying songs from web pages or streaming shows while still remaining inside the app.

Competition in the Search Market

New features of Google can be released as rival businesses investing in the search market get greater, of which Google still has a better over ninety shares globally situated. OpenAI has been beta testing called SearchGPT, through which users search for information by simply answering questions posed by a bot. Also, manifesting a growth scenario considering the open AI’s recent injection of 6.6 billion US Dollars, no competitor has posed a strong contender against Google in the search domain. As stated by industry insiders, the recent announcements made by Google’s management aim to slow down the growth rates of competitor firms and avert loss of its market share.
