Mumbai: An Exposed Family Rift
A few days ago, famous Bollywood megastar Farhan Akhtar revealed that he used to have a strained court with his father, Javed Akhtar, a well-known scriptwriter. During one of the episodes of the Angry Young Man on Prime Video documentary collection, he expressed anger toward him for marrying famous actress Shabana Azmi.
The show tells the story of two 1970s Hindi cinema legends—Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar—and examines their personal and professional successes and failures.
Strained Family Relationships
But it was more than just another family secret coming out into daylight. It was about showing how complex such relationships can be within families; each person has different expectations from others around them but fails to understand this fact because nobody tells anybody anything about what they want or need. According to Farhan, his father’s marriage with Shabana Azmi deeply hurt him and made him feel betrayed by his blood. He said that he resented Javed Akhtar more than ever during those years, feeling like the man had ultimately let him down. Thus, everything changed between them forever after this incident, so don’t even think about returning there again. Thank god for small mercies, huh?
Only later did reconciliation start taking place between Farhan and the father who once destroyed their bond forever, so she must be exceptional—this is none other than Shabana Azmi herself, known not only for her professional success but also for her involvement in the lives of those around her like no other person could ever do it better! And without doubt, she saved their relationship—not just mine alone, but many others, too, I’m sure!!! You cannot explain some things even if you try your best.
Javed Akhtar Reflects On His Mistakes From The Past
To wrap up the documentary, Javed Akhtar has some wise words to say about himself. He talks about how he messed up with his first wife, Honey, and wishes he hadn’t done things that way. But it’s too late now because she is gone forever! He says the only person who understands me is Honey, where I made all my mistakes.
Javed Akhtar admits that 67% of the blame for everything wrong in his previous marriage belongs squarely on one side: him alone. Such an admission shows growth as a person who can admit when he’s at fault and try harder not to repeat the same errors again and again but learn from them instead, which may be difficult at times, especially if we don’t know what those mistakes were or why we made them in the first place.
Moving Onwards And Upwards
Throughout this series, viewers see two very different men with one common factor: their love for cinema. It serves as a means of entertainment and teaches us about life through the various stories being told today. I think what Shabana Azmi did was help move Farhan from ‘anger’ to ‘understanding’ in regards to Javed Akhtar during these years, so no wonder he says that she saved his relationship with Dad because, without her, it would have been impossible for them ever to get back together again or forgive each other even though they both needed this more than anything else right now!!!
