International Pakistan’s Youth Day is celebrated on August 12 worldwide to acknowledge the contributions of young people to society. In Pakistan, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have issued messages on this day highlighting their role as architects of tomorrow’s Pakistan.
The Youth: Architects of Pakistan’s Future
In his message on International Youth Day, President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the Pakistani youth, whom he termed the country’s most precious asset. The President called them future leaders and guarantors of Pakistan’s destiny. According to Mr. Zardari, young people envision a better tomorrow and have the power to take us there.
The Head of State emphasized that it is the nation’s responsibility to provide necessary facilities and opportunities for grooming skills; further, we should equip these kids with everything required to contribute to building a prosperous, peaceful, and progressive Pakistan. He expressed great pride over the achievements made by Pakistani youngsters, saying their energy, creativity, and resilience remained unmatched drivers of national success.
Investing in the Future – Our Youth Matter
Furthermore, the President also stressed the need for massive youth recruitment, calling upon concerted efforts to train them digitally literate. This is very important given the present era, in which global changes happen faster than ever before.
The concluding part of his statement appealed to everyone to join hands in assisting the growth registered by those coming behind us, to whom we owe much because, without them, no nation grows. Thus, let’s appreciate their talents today and note what they are doing to promote national development. He said, “The future of our country lies in success but, more importantly, recognition of young people’s achievements.”
Empowering the Youth for a Bright Future
In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the same feelings and said that the young people are tomorrow’s leaders who will build a prosperous Pakistan. He pointed out that influential young individuals would not only improve themselves but also contribute to development at the grassroots level in various spheres, such as education and health care, among others, by using technology in their business ventures alongside other social activities, which can bring positive change within them as well as society.
The Prime Minister highlighted this year’s International Youth Day theme, “From Clicks to Bricks: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development.” He pointed out that this theme underscores the vital role that young people play in today’s world, where technology and opportunities converge to empower them to turn their dreams into reality. He emphasized that integrating technology and opportunities gives youth the power to pave the way for a sustainable and equitable future.
The Role of Technology in Youth Empowerment
The Prime Minister likewise noticed that Pakistan has an enormous youth populace, with 60% of its kin younger than 30. This demographic is quickly becoming part of the global digital culture. He posited that if used for learning, business, and social activities, technology could help them improve their lives while contributing to national development.
He praised the Youth Loan Scheme alongside Agriculture introduced back in 2013, which provided substantial financial aid for many budding entrepreneurs throughout Pakistan who were below 35 years old; so far, they have received around PKR186 billion ($1.5bn), leading to the creation of numerous job vacancies thereby boosting economic growth.
A Call for a Brighter Future
President Zardari’s message and those from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif are timely reminders of why we should invest more heavily in our children’s future. They underscore the imperative need to afford them the requisite utilities necessary for their success since, by doing so, we will be lighting up brighter tomorrows not only for individuals but for entire nations, too. As challenges continue mounting against Pakistan’s progressiveness, it is only through empowering these young people that we can guarantee peace and prosperity in the days to come.
