Electricity Prices Surge 3.32 Rupee/unit Increase

The price of each unit of electricity has been increased by 3 rupees and 32 paisas, a predictable increment that will be effective in the current month’s bill. NEPRA has issued a notification regarding the price hike resulting from an increase in power tariff under monthly fuel price adjustment. As per media reports, the federal cabinet has approved setting the basic tariff for local consumers at up to Rs 48.84. In contrast, the basic tariff per unit increase ranges from Rs 3.95 to Rs 7.12.
